On October 3, 2018 at 1:18 pm, FEMA will send a test message to all cell phones that are connected to providers who participate in Wireless Emergency Alerts. This will be a nationwide test of the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System. This test will likely result in a disruption to the school day. National school safety partners are encouraging teachers to use this disruption as an opportunity to teach students about emergency preparedness.
